Individual therapy is time-limited at CAPS. In order to serve the needs of all Emory students, CAPS utilizes a brief therapy model that generally allows for up to 8 sessions per academic year. Many students find that their concerns can be addressed in just a few sessions, while others need ongoing or specialized care. If the support you need is not available on campus, a clinician can help you connect with off-campus providers and services.

If you have already identified a community therapist and have the student health insurance, you can call (404-727-7450) to request an insurance referral activation, which must be re-activated every August. To get the process started, call 404-727-7450 and ask to speak with an on-call clinician. If you would like help identifying a community provider, please schedule an initial assessment appointment with a CAPS clinician.
